TT Supersport (1) & Sidecar (1)

Michael Dunlop put Sunday’s disappointment behind him with a dominant win in the opening Supersport TT. Peter Hickman claimed his second podium in two days with 3rd place with James Hillier just ahead in 2nd. William Dunlop was denied a podium slot although his good form from the NW 200 continued as he claimed 4th spot.

Tom and Ben Birchall scorched away from the line to take the first of the Sidecar races. Opposing crews had no answer to the brothers hot pace as they broke the lap record to record an average speed for the lap at over 117mph! John Holden and Lee Cain finished 2nd and the local crew of Dave Molyneux and Dan Style came home in third. Their pace was slowed considerably as Sayle suffered injuries to his ribs such was the furious pace up front.

TT Superbike – Sun

Superbike Sunday greeted the competitors with near perfect conditions for the opening race of TT 2017. Four riders diced for the race win through to the chequered flag after 6 laps of the Mountain Course.

Ian Hutchinson secured his 15th TT victory from Peter Hickman (first podium) and Dean Harrison.

TT Practice -Sat

Unusually Saturday was a practice day. Cancellations have meant a complete rehash of the entire programme and the reduced practice time has left the organisers with a bit of a headache. I hope that things will be back on track after today’s Superbike race, time will tell.

Fantastic conditions up at the Bungalow yesterday enabled some fantastic action in the bright and breezy conditions.

TT Practice – Friday

Sunny conditions, for a welcome change, graced the Mountain Course as the organisers began the process of trying to catch up with the scheduled programme. There will be further practising tomorrow and the week’s racing will commence on Sunday with the opening Superbike Race. Bright and warm conditions to the West of the island, here at Rhencullen, ensured a cracking session with several riders posting their quickest lap time of the week.

TT Practice – Wednesday

Conditions were less than ideal as the machines left the Grandstand this evening. Just one and half laps later the Clerk of the Course brought proceedings to a close with the weather closing in which prevented the Air Med helicopters from flying.
